How to Mine Safecoin - Equihash Algo

Introduction

I usually find these new coins from the bitcointalk.org and instamine potential and good coins before they go mainstream to masses (whattomine, top exchanges etc.,) likewise i have instamined Sumokoin, Signatum (scam but still got 1 BTC within a week), Denarius, Galactrum, Nihilio, LUX, FOLM...etc.,

This way you can make quick buck than falling behind ETH and fighting with increasing hashrates.

I would recommend using NVIDIA GPUs(not that i am against AMDs but ccminer usually supports nvidia and it takes time to get miners for new algo for AMDs).

There are different variants of ccminer by different developers, the top pick is ccminer by tpruvot

These miner supports quite a lot of algo and developers quickly launch when there is a new algo comes out.

But to mine Safecoin, we need equihash miner, personally i like DSTMs equihash miner

Steps

• Download the DSTMs equihash miner and extract it to a folder

• There will be file called "start-no-cfg-file" , leave it as it is and lets goto Safecoin website and download their wallet

• Download the wallet and execute Safecoin.exe which will start the wallet and choose native or lite (i chose native since its a new coin and blockhain will be smaller but if you prefer lite version to scan the blockchain online then go ahead, if you get an error like zcash params, priv key error

• Download these from the following link and put it in the following folder

• Once the wallet is synchronized, you will see the address here, make sure to click on the three small dots and copy the private WIF and keep it somewhere safe to recover incase of your system gets corrupted. Also use transparent wallet address for mining.

• Now copy the Address (public key), we need this address to place in the DSTMs miner config file

• Now lets goto DSTMs folder and open the file "start-no-cfg-file" or you can create any file but make sure to name the extension as .bat (windows) .sh (linux)

• Goto http://safecoin.catspool.org and scroll down to see "how to connect" enter your safecoin address and choose your region, it will generate the code for your miner, copy from DSMTs code or alternatively use the following steps

zm --server safecoin-us.catspool.org --port 3432  --user WALLET-ADDRESS --color

• Replace "WALLET-ADDRESS" with your Safecoin Address and save the file, make sure the file has extension ".bat"

• Now double click the bat file to start mining and see the status of your mining in http://safecoin.catspool.org/miner/WALLET-ADDRESS
